propoints are the first part of the smartseal system.

They are the only obturation points available that use hydrophilic polymers to expand in the root canal to give an excellent seal. The self-sealing ability of the points means you can be confident that you’ll achieve excellent results. EasyEndo every time, with SmartSeal.

The points consist of a radiopaque core, coated with a hydrophilic polymer which expands laterally upon absorbing water from the tooth. The point comes in two tapers – 4% and 6%, which exactly match constant tapered rotary files.

The points are designed to be rigid on insertion then absorb water from the tooth environment and swell LATERALLY only, adopting the shape of the canal.

Once a seal is created, the point will stop swelling, thus preventing root fracture. Once hydrated, the point is actually quite soft so removal or further preparation of the tooth is straightforward.
